Artist's Statement

RECENT WORK - DEPART / ARRIVE, THEN AND NOW
In recent years, I, like many others from Hong Kong which have been mainly driven by political and social factors, have experienced the painful process of leaving behind my home and loved ones.  The decision to depart was not an easy one - filled with uncertainty, hesitation, and emotional struggle.  Letting go of the familiar was heartbreaking, and the weight of change felt overwhelming.  Now, as I navigate life in a new country, the United Kingdom, I find myself slowly adapting to a different culture and environment.  The pain of departure still lingers, but with time, new perspectives and opportunities have opened up before me.  My world has expanded, and I have begun to embrace the possibilities of this new chapter.  The series is a reflection of my journey - from loss to renewal, from uncertainty to hope.

MICROCOSM WORLD SERIES
In my work, I build a deep and complex connection between a seen (macro) and unseen (micro) reality using my own belongings (e.g. necklaces, bracelets, hair clips, perfume bottles…. etc) as a catalyst to explore the dynamics of colors and painting space. I always surprised by the spatial journey in between positive form and negative space and how it creates new and unexpected images. I believe the beauty of inner space, though unseen, is sharing the same space and living with us. That’s why I named my paintings as “Microcosm World” series.

近期作品 -《離開／抵達：過去與現在》
近年來，我和許多來自香港的人一樣，在政治和社會因素的推動下，經歷了痛苦的離別過程。我們不得不告別家園和摯愛，而這個決定並不容易——充滿不確定、猶豫和內心掙扎。放下熟悉的一切令人心碎，變遷的重量更是難以承受。如今，我在英國展開新生活，慢慢適應截然不同的文化和環境。離別的傷痛依然存在，但隨著時間推移，我開始看見新的視野與機會。我的世界變得更寬廣，也學會擁抱這個新篇章的可能性。這個系列作品，是我旅程的映照——從失落到重生，從不確定到希望。

「微觀世界」系列
在我的創作裡，我以自己的私人物品作為靈感泉源：頸鏈、手鐲、髮夾、小香水瓶......等等。我除了利用物件本來形態外，還有與「正形態」同樣重要的「負形態」相互配合之下所帶來意想不到的新奇畫面。我相信微觀空間裏的世界更完美，並存活在與我們共存的同一個空間裏，因此我命名我的作品為「微觀世界」系列。
